Vegas re-done

We survived Las Vegas, and by we, I mean, myself, Ed, West, Brandis and my mom. We left Friday afternoon, and a cool 5 hour drive later, we had West screaming "VIVA LAS VEGAS" as we pulled up to our log cabin themed hotel, Silverton Resort and Casino.
We went to Vegas to celebrate the upcoming birth of our dear friend Maranda, and her husband Frank's first baby girl, Avery Ella.
We spent Friday night gorging at the buffet, then a little video poker and spicy bloody mary's, for my mom, sister and I. Ed got a special night of watching West in the hotel room, and watching Ice Age, for the 100th time. This was a great departure from his usual Vegas trips with the boys.

Saturday we spent time wandering the hotel and the attached Bass Pro Shop---which if you have never been to, you are much like myself, and if you have....well then you are pretty hardcore. This place was the mecca of taxidermy animals. They probably hold some sort of record for the amount of stuffed, posed, dead animals on display. West liked it, we liked checking out the camo gear. Do hunters really need a hat with leaves, that has a leaf print, and smells like leaves? Yes, apparently they do. And Bass Pro Shop sells them.

We got some good food at Maranda's shower, and made a quick exit, because Saturday was Ed and I's official date night. We were incredibly lucky to have Brandis and my mom volunteer to watch West, so we could have a rare night on the town.

Ed planned a special night, and we headed to Cosmpolitan for drinks, and douchebag viewing. Then walked thru City Center, and made our way to New York New York, to hang, until our 10pm showtime for Zumanity. We had sushi, at Chin Chin (ask for Troy--you will not be disappointed-best spicy tuna of my life) and played roulette, and slots, and had the best time. Then we watched Zumanity, (mini-review---decent show, topless, and very burlesque-y. If you want a traditional Cirque show, go see Ka)
We left Vegas around 11:30 Sunday morning and were back on our couch at home watching the tail-end of NFL Redzone, by 3:30. Perfect ending to a great road trip. Looking forward to our next adventure.

Getting started

I love being a mom. I love being a wife. I love the family we have created, and I consider myself incredibly lucky that we have each other. Starting a blog to express that, seems like something I should have done long ago. I hope you enjoy our adventures, because I already love them all. The Husby and I met at the ripe old age of 13. We were in middle school in El Paso, Texas and at 18, we were officially “dating” and both moving to Southern California in the summer of 1997 for college. After some interesting college years, and even more interesting after-college years, we settled down in South Orange County, California and by New Years Eve of 2007, we were engaged in San Francisco. We were married April 30, 2008, and in December of 2008, we found out we were going to be parents. On August 18th 2009, we welcomed the most amazing little boy into this world, and our lives changed forever. Our Wild West was born. Now, a little over 2 years later, and I had no idea at that moment, how much I’d love this amazing little boy. It’s an all consuming love, that I can only describe as life-changing. I look at him everyday, and I can’t believe I get to take care of him, and I get to hang out with him, and help mold the person he will be. I’m lucky. Incredibly, grateful and lucky. I love you West. You are my everything, and always will be.
